Bar Alto at Brisbane's Powerhouse is recruiting both a Bar Supervisor and Barista staff.

Bar Supervisor -

We are looking for an experienced Bar Supervisor with a passion for food and wine to join our dynamic team at our award winning restaurant, Bar Alto.

Bar Alto offers a diverse range of works with restaurant trade, functions, theatre crowds and special events.

The bar accommodates 50 – 1500 patrons at various times and thus the applicant must be able to supervise from 4 – 14 staff members. It is imperative that the applicant be able to delegate, lead by example and display a sense of professionalism.

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role and should display an interest in both food and wine and be willing to further develop their knowledge through continued staff training.

Applicants must be fully up to date with RSA and have a current RMLV Certificate.

Applicants must also be available for night and weekend work.

The position is a full time position with the roster running Tuesday to Sunday.

Duties involved – including but not limited to, with hands on training provided for some.

-General Bar Duties (including Cocktail making)

-Advanced Bar Duties (eg. Beer Line Cleaning & troubleshooting)

-Barista duties (not essential, as long as you are willing to learn)

-Staff Management (balancing the correct amount of staff needed for the shift)

-Rostering & Staff training

-POS & Menu management

-Management Interaction (Working as a team with all areas of management)

-Stock Control, Ordering & Invoicing

-Functions Management & Interaction with different departments of Brisbane Powerhouse

-Handling of customer complaints

Barista - 

For the position of Barista we are seeking a someone ideally with bar experience for a casual position.

The successful applicant must be experienced with a minimum of one year, be well presented and have fantastic coffee skills. Additional bar skills would be ideal or if you have no experience working in a  bar, enthusiasm and an interest to learn would be essential for applying for this position.

You must be able to work equally well under pressure and in quiet moments. Above all the applicant we are looking for will need to be able to work within an already well established team.

The position involves approx. 20 - 30 hours a week over a roster running Tuesday - Sunday.
