About the business
Kies Family Wines is a 5th generation family owned, cellar door/café located in Lyndoch, in the southern end of the Barossa Valley (just 10 minutes from Gawler and 50 minutes from Adelaide).
Nestled amongst the vines and under the shadow of the Barossa Ranges, Kies Winery boasts world-class views to compliment a fun and laid-back atmosphere.
About the role
A position has become available for a cook with a passion for food creation, to build an exciting menu around the business mantra: "The taste of happiness."
The position
We are looking for a cook to work alongside our existing cook, to reinvigorate the menu and create seasonal dishes throughout the year.
The Café currently services many bus groups for lunch and the high standard of food must continue to be maintained.
The Café is currently open 6 days per week, from 9.30am to 4pm.

Skills and experience
Competencies:
- The ability to demonstrate creativity: we are looking for someone who can create tantalising dishes, to pair with our wines, as well as the beautiful seasonal produce we have available in the Barossa Valley.
- Autonomy: The right person will be capable of working autonomously.
- Passion is must. We are proud of our wines, some crafted from 90 year old vines, and are looking for someone to let their passion shine through in the menu.
- You must be a team player, with a strong work ethic, and excellent personal presentation and time management skills.
Experience:
- Must have worked in a commercial kitchen as a cook/chef.
- Must have experience working in a busy, fast-paced restaurant/café.
- Must possess either formal qualifications in commercial cookery or a long-standing history of success in a cook/chef role.
This position is aimed at a sous chef who would like the autonomy of helping to build a menu they can be proud of.
