We are currently looking for experienced Baristas, ideally with supervisory experience, who are passionate about people and quality coffee to embark on an exciting role in our QUT Bar Merlo. 

This exciting opportunity is ideal for those who are looking to grow and expand their experience in the coffee industry - as well as progress into managerial positions. 

The Position:

Initially you will receive the tools and training in a wide variety of areas for the position of Shift Manager. Once the training is complete, some of your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Staff management: assisting the store manager in directing, training, rostering and organising a team of 10+ staff
  • Product knowledge: continuously educating and training staff on coffee, and product knowledge
  • Customer service: ensuring customer focused service is maintained by all staff by upholding Merlo's core values
  • Financial management: performing day to day cash management, stock management, purchasing and profitability management of site, managing wage percentages and sales targets
  • Store Management: maintaining the presentation and daily running of the store to the highest standard, including food safety and OH&S
