Based in the heart of Perth, this renowned local council is seen as a leader in delivering core local government services and is proud of its rich history. They now have an amazing opportunity for an Activity Approvals Officer for an immediate start, working on a rotational roster.
The main objection of this position is to facilitate activities to ensure the activities approved are successful, safe, within streets and the City’s public places and reserves and that the City provides its best possible services to facilitate a successful outcome for all.
Your main responsibilities will include;
- Providing exemplary standard of courteous and efficient service to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Providing timely, knowledgeable and accurate information to internal and external customers and stakeholders
- Overseeing approval of temporary road closures to facilitate events and infrastructure works with a focus on minimising the impact on City stakeholders and the general public.
- Working with Government Agencies and other stakeholders to co-ordinate activity works and events to minimise impacts on City networks.
- Continuing implementation of guidelines, procedures, plans and policies for AAU to improve services and productivity.
- Preparing Memo’s to CEO, Directors, Elected Members and Reports to Council as required.
- Liaising with internal business units regularly to obtain qualified input for applications.
- Administering relevant statutory responsibilities including matters related to local laws, land administration, traffic engineering, parking policy etc.
To be successful, you will have the following skills and attributes;
- Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience in Large Outdoor Event management
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Highly developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritising tasks under minimal direction to meet deadlines
