Discovery Holidays is a boutique travel agency offering guided tours, itinerary planning, reservations, and corporate travel products and services specializing in accessible and inclusive tourism. 

Originally based in Western Australia, Discovery Holidays is now part of a national group of service related companies, The group is experiencing rapid growth to new markets in South Australia, Queensland and Victoria, and we diversifying our services for new corporate and public clientele. 

The role

The Travel Manager will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver inclusive packaged travel products and services to support corporate customers and the travelling public. 

This role is responsible for operating and managing all travel related business activities, and contributing expert industry knowledge and skills for various agency business development projects.

This is a hands on role and involves direct sales, purchasing, supplier relationship outreach and business systems development. 

What you will need

To succeed in this opportunity, your recent Agency Management or Senior Consultant experience, will set you apart from the rest. 

You will be able to manage deadlines whilst utilizing your well-developed industry knowledge, supplier relationships and customer service skills to grow agency sales channels, products and profitability. 

You will command excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to engage with team members, customers and key stakeholders who come from a diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds.

Requirements to be considered for the position include: 

  • Qualification - Certificate IV Travel and Tourism or equivalent industry recognized certificate or training
  • Ideally 5+ years senior retail or wholesales travel industry experience
  • Experience with GDS systems, fares and ticketing procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of complex travel itinerary planning is essential
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project budgeting, product pricing development and forecasting will be highly regarded
  • Current Federal Police Clearance Certificate (issued within the past six months)
  • Current Australian drivers licence
  • Current First Aid certificate.
