The Langham Hotel Melbourne is currently looking for an Overnight full-time Porter to join our Front Office team. This is a fixed term contract through to February 2019.

You will have the opportunity to work with the Front Office department which consists of approximately 60 colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity for you to grow your hotel skill set in order to build a career with-in The Langham, shall you be determined and dedicated.

This position is an integral part of a high performing hotel team, and a key contributor to the hotel’s ongoing success.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide a warm welcoming smile for all our guests
• Assist guests entering and departing the hotel with luggage
• Familiarise the guests with the hotel rooms, facilities, amenities and services
• Deliver messages, faxes and other items to guest rooms or other hotel areas
• Assist the Doorperson; opening car doors, greeting guests, summoning taxi’s, keeping the Porte Cochere (driveway) clear, loading/unloading luggage into vehicles, labelling luggage & car keys
• Monitor cleanliness of the Ground Floor Lobby, Front Driveway, Porters Station & Back Corridor and the Baggage Store
• Valet parking

For this role, your attributes will be inclusive of the following:

• 5 star hotel experience is an advantage
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic
• Proven organisational & time management skills
• Hold a current manual Australian drivers license (full licence not "P" plates).
• Immaculate presentation and grooming
• Ability to work independently
• Eye for detail coupled with a strong ability to proactively identify, prioritise and manage multiple tasks
• Successfully accomplish objectives in a busy and challenging workplace

The successful candidate will be required to work between the hours of 10.30pm through to 8am.
