The Role

Baw Baw Shire Council has an exciting opportunity in their Arts, Culture and Events team for Casual Theatre Usher and Bar Attendants to work at the newly refurbished West Gippsland Arts Centre.

The successful candidate will deliver outstanding personalised service to thousands of visitors each year, assisting with queries, directing patrons to their seats, serving in the bar and maintaining contributing in general to the smooth running of events held at the centre.  You will be an integral part of the customer service team and understand the major impact you have on the experiences of our customers. 

We are looking for a candidate with outstanding customer service skills, excellent integrity and demonstrated experience in cash handling, as well as a current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate. Excellent communication skills, the ability to respond to a dynamic work environment and an innovative, creative operating style are important to succeed in this role.  The successful candidate will be a good team player, with great flexibility and adaptability. You must be able and willing to work Monday – Sunday and evenings.

You will be required to hold a current and valid motor vehicle driver’s licence and successfully undergo and return a criminal history record check.
