Located in the heart of vibrant South Yarra on the corner of Chapel Street & Toorak Road, the Hotel features 111 accommodation suites; Restaurant; Bar; Swimming Pool; Sun deck and private Gardens. As a part of a large hotel portfolio The Como is proud of its reputation of one of Melbourne's most stylish hotel venues. 


We is currently seeking an Assistant Manager to join their professional and dynamic Hotel. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager with regular access to the General Manager, you primary responsibility is ensuring a high level of guest service at all times across the hotel.
 
As an Assistant Manager, your tasks and responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to the following:

  • Process and assist with check-in, check-out of guests, ensuring all procedures are adhered too.
  • Lead by example when attending to guest requests. Be proactive and resourceful.
  • Take initiative to ensure that interactions with our customers are positive and productive.
  • Have the necessary skills and training to actively resolve complaints and challenges presented by customers.
  • Provide guidance, support training and leadership to all employees.
  • Monitor training and offer guidance to employees whilst on shift.
  • Assist in all areas of the hotel during peak times to eliminate potential issues.
  • Responsibility for the health and safety of all patrons, guests and staff members.
Your ability to ‘surprise’ our guests with your natural bright and bubbly customer service style is what sets you apart from the rest. You are naturally a confident person who is able to approach people and initiate conversation along with a strong knowledge of the hotel its and surrounding area.
 
 You are able to manage your time and can handle juggling numerous tasks at once but still able to follow procedure and maintain a high awareness of security. You have an outcome driven approach to performance and results. Strive to achieve excellence in your field.
 
You have experience in Opera, hold a Senior First Aid Certificate and Responsible Service of Alcohol for Victoria. You will be available to work varied shifts from early mornings to late evenings, including weekends and Public Holidays as per our business demands.
 
The successful candidate will have unlimited work rights in Australia and be flexible to work 38 hours on average per week. You will have experience in a similar role or environment, preferably in hotels.
