Cater Care are currently seeking an experienced Full Time Chef to work at an Aged Care facility in Newcastle.

The key to our success is our people. Your role in this environment is to provide friendly, attentive and efficient service to our valued residents through the cooking of a variety of meals, preparation of ingredients and food service.

This position is hands on position requiring you to prepare and cook meals for our valued residents.

Please note: successful applicants will be required to undergo a Police Clearance

Key Responsibilities:

Cooking and serving fresh home style meals with adherence to service times with consistency and quality of food product
Responsible for preparation of special diets and diet requirements including allergies/intolerances, vegetarian, gluten free; supplements and texture modified soft & purees
Kitchen management including budgets, ordering & stock control
Management of staff & rosters, including kitchen & front of house
Maintaining Food Safety Programs; safe and hygienic food practices in a clean and safe environment
Building and maintaining client relationships
Managing the facility within guidelines

Key Criteria:

Trade Qualified Chef
A passion for producing great food and customer service
Willingness to embrace Cater Care's values of Care Pride Community
Excellent communication skills with varying stakeholders
Have a strong understanding of HACCP
Previous management experience in rosters, menu planning and financial reporting

The successful candidate ideally will have previous experience in a similar role working in the Aged Care, Health or Hospital sector. You will be a well presented and self-motivated individual who has excellent organisational & communication skills.
