ABOUT BARRISTERS BLOCK
Barristers Block Wines is a premium winery operating out of their Cellar Door and Kitchen based in Woodside, South Australia. The boutique winery is seeking a Special Events Chef to oversee all catering operations for our Weddings and Special Events.

ABOUT YOU
You will be energetic, outgoing and a forward thinker. Flexibility is absolutely essential, as is the ability to work alongside your team, rather than above them. You will be required to get your hands dirty and not be afraid to get stuck into the nitty gritty. The Barristers Block team sets out to exceed their guest’s expectations with every visit, so your shared vision and values are vital for success.

YOUR NEW ROLE
The Cellar Door hosts up to 80 Weddings and Special Events annually, and you will be required to oversee the kitchen and produce all food required for these celebrations. You will work with flair, and have a desire to produce only the very best tasting and looking food.

Menu Development - Working with the Wedding & Event Manager, you will research, develop and deliver menus for Special Events and Weddings. You will be required to research trends, analyse competitors and produce a modern and desirable menu for the events.

Staff Development - The Kitchen comes with a small team of casual/full time staff, all with their own skill sets and strengths. You will have the ability to assess these skills, and train and develop your team to create a pleasant working environment.

Budget Management - You will work together with the Managing Director and Wedding & Event Manager t to analyse food costs and maintain profitability.

WHS - Ensure that the Kitchen meets all Work Health Safety requirements and is maintained in an exceptionally clean and tidy state

YOUR SKILLS & STRENGTHS
• Certificate in Commercial Cooking is essential
• Demonstrated experience as a Chef
• Proven experience catering for Weddings and Special Events
• Flair for presentation and passion for your work
• Excellent staff management skills and the ability to work with a variety of people and personalities
• Personable and flexible nature

ABOUT THE CONDITIONS
We are seeking a Part Time, Casual or Contract position, all of which are open for negotiation. We are happy to discuss the option of paying you on an invoice basis provided you can provide a valid ABN.
