About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef who has the tools to ensure continued and increased success of our busy kitchen team. Without compromising on quality or service you will be an effective leader with a demonstrated capacity to deliver strong financial results. You will also be a hands on leader with a sincere desire to promote our positive team culture.
This is a Full-time salaried position and you must be available for night and weekend work as well as school holidays.
About you:
The successful candidate will come from a background of proven success in a head chef role (minimum 4 years experience) and will have the following qualities:
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- An ability to work successfully in a high volume, busy and fast paced environment whilst overseeing staff
- Excellent presentation and attention to detail
- A positive and effective method of leading, managing and training staff
- Full financial understanding and business acumen of a profitable kitchen
- A calm and assertive management style with ability to positively motivate and upskill your team
- Be organised and have intermediate computer skills
- Previous experience in a busy Club or Hotel setting is favourable
They will be responsible for:
- Costing and the production of menus including functions and specials menus
- HACCAP, OH&S and hygiene standards
- Stock control, ordering, costings and working with suppliers
- Overseeing internal systems and procedures to ensure a high level of presentation, hygiene, service, product quality, safe work practices and overall customer satisfaction
- Ensuring the smooth running of kitchen services
