As Australia’s largest non-gaming pub group, Australian Venue Co, operates a diverse portfolio of iconic hotels and pubs throughout multiple States and Territories.

 

We are currently seeking interest from experienced and highly driven Area Managers for a unique opportunity located in Darwin.  This is a senior management position reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

 

To be successful in this role you will need the ability to deliver profitable venues by imparting and instilling in our Venue Managers effective methods in business operations and the ability to both manage and increase the effectiveness, productivity and efficiency of the Venue Managers.  You will also need to support them in setting, implementing, measuring and evolving both the venue and venue service standards. 

 

You will also be overseeing the development, implementation and review of marketing business plans for venues as well as managing all operational systems at the venue level. 

 

Perhaps most importantly, you will be trusted with developing and managing the venue management teams.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 years direct pub / bar / club experience (integral) including experience in entertainment lead venues (late night venues)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Area Manager role
  • At least 3 years’ experience in financial management with the ability to set and meet / exceed financial targets including the confidence to analyse and assume integrity of financial results
  • Budget development and oversight experience
  • Strong people management and development experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing employees and major projects or initiatives
  • Business development and marketing experience
  • Experience in organisational effectiveness and implementing operations management best practices
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills
  • Exceptionally strong time management and multi-tasking abilities
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new systems
  • Knowledge of hospitality related legislation and compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
  • Knowledge of OH&S and risk assessment
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organisation and the ability to look at situations from several points of view
  • Persuasive with details and facts
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively
