Taronga is looking for an experienced, driven and motivated Accommodation Manager who is interested in joining a leading organisation in conservation, animal management and offers amazing guest experiences.

 

This exciting role forms part of Taronga Western Plains Zoo’s management team and will manage the three onsite accommodation products that the zoo has to offer (Billabong Camp, Zoofari Lodge and Savannah Cabins).  As the Accommodation Manager you will lead a diverse team to deliver innovative first class guest experiences.

About the role…

Key accountabilities…

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of onsite accommodation establishments including planning work schedules and staff rosters, facilitating training and development sessions and overseeing performance management including employee welfare initiatives.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained to comply with health and safety regulations, including scheduling periodic maintenance, repairs and renovation work.
  • Ensure the ongoing financial success of onsite accommodation establishments including budgeting and financial reporting to achieve revenue, cost-saving and profit targets.
  • Ensure high standard of customer service in conjunction with Commercial Operations Manager, setting clear targets for satisfaction and customer evaluation mechanisms including internal surveys and other external portals including Trip Advisor.
  • Ensure sales optimisation based on seasonality and market conditions considering all opportunities to capitalise on occupancy and revenue during peak and non peak yield periods.
  • Comply with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and suggest initiatives for further improvement to ensure industry leading standards are maintained.
  • Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
  • Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter.
 
About you…
We are looking for candidates that have:
  1. Demonstrated experience working with financial management including reporting processes and budgets
  2. Supervisory/coordination or management experience in a Commercial or Accommodation environment
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of best practice methods available to the accommodation industry (quality systems and procedures) and experience working in public environments
  4. Current Class C NSW Driver’s License
  5. Current RSA certification
  6. An ability to meet varying roster commitments, including school holidays and some weekends
  7. A current paid NSW Working with Children Check
