We are seeking a qualified & professional Function Chef to join our established team here at DOOLEYS Lidcombe Catholic Club. Functions at DOOLEYS are coordinated with meticulous detail and executed to an impeccable standard by our dedicated and attentive staff, catering for intimate events from ten guests, through to larger banquets of up to 500 guests.

This position could see you working alone or alongside a team of Chefs, you will be responsible for food preparation, cooking and cleaning.  With a strong focus on maintaining food quality via consistency, flavour and presentation. 

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing of the daily production schedule to determine the requirements for preparation
• Working towards cost per head, with minimal wastage
• Ensuring the highest quality of food, food preparation and presentation are maintained at all times
• Assisting with development of new menus that are cost effective without compromising quality and  the implementation of  these changes
• Ability to cater for special diets according to prescribed standards
• Maintaining a clean working area, utensils and equipment
• Ensuring all prepared and produced foods meet the clubs quality, timing, consistency and WH&S standards
• Ordering required ingredients
• Working methodically and efficiently to achieve service delivery that is on time as per scheduled run sheets

To be successful in this role, you will have prior experience within a similar role and sound knowledge of HACCP and WH&S. A passion for cooking and personable demeanor together with exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written are essential to succeed in this fantastic opportunity. Availability to work a rotational roster inclusive of weekends and evenings.
