About Pt. Leo Estate
Pt. Leo Estate is a family run ocean front property set on 330 acres of vineyard, farm and sculpture park located in the Mornington Peninsula.
Opened in October 2017, Our service philosophy is centred around genuine hospitality and professional service at every juncture.
Led by Manager Ainslie Lubbock (ex Pei Modern, Royal Mail Hotel and Attica) and Head Sommelier Andrew Murch (Donovans, Rockpool, Stockhouse) Pt. The successful applicant will have the rare opportunity to work along side the Restaurant Manager and Sommelier in providing excellence to our 100 seat dining room and 50 seat fine dining restaurant.
About The Role
Full time permanent position
The role of Junior Sommelier will mean your time is shared between dedicated wine shifts, and as a section waiter.
This is a customer facing role with plenty of opportunity for guest engagment and daily exposure to wine and food service
Opportunity for progression with plenty of training and coaching from the senior team, and on certain days of the week, you will be the Sommelier representing the business.
You will have the opportunity to work across two venues (Pt. Leo Estate Restaurant & Laura)
You will have exposure to a vineyard, winemakers and distinguished sommeliers, cellar door and management teams, along with working along some of the best chefs in the region. Above all, this is a great opportunity to progress; gaining experience in all aspects of wine procurement, service and management across two venues, which includes degustation and wine-pairing.

About You
- Demonstrate experience in refined dining establishments
- Excellent knowledge of cocktails and spirits
- Strong wine knowledge
- Excellent communicator
- Completion of WSET 2 and a desire to complete further wine related studies
- Strong work ethic and 'can do' attitude
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Task driven
- Able and willing to work weekends and public holidays
- Hold a current Victorian drivers licence and have own transport
