Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is a major health provider in the Central Hume region offering an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services, in a setting of snowfields, wineries and tourist destinations in Northeast Victoria.
NHW is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to join the Health Information Services (HIS) Team.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- ICD-10-AM and ACHI Coding and Grouping using the fully interfaced 3M Codefinder software
- Coding and Casemix audits
- Provision of Health Information Management Services to smaller contracted regional health services
- Key support to the role of HDSS data management and compliance
- Other duties as required by the Chief Health Information Manager
Essential:
- Completion of a Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar coding position
- A comprehensive knowledge of current Australian Coding Standards
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and also independently
With the implementation of a new Patient Administration System (PAS) anticipated in the next 18 months, the successful applicant will also have the opportunity be a part of this exciting project, and moving towards an electronic medical record.
