The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne is a leading provider of specialist public health services for children and adolescents and is the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria, caring for children from Tasmania and southern New South Wales as well as other states around Australia and overseas.

 

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff of more than 4000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

 

The Department of General Medicine has available two 12 month positions as Infectious Diseases Fellow (1.0 EFT each), commencing February 2019.  The position is based at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne.

 

This position will provide an advanced trainee in Paediatrics with experience and training in Infectious Diseases.  The position interacts with other Fellows in General Medicine, Clinical Pharmacology, Rheumatology and Immigrant Health, as well as more junior trainees.

 

This full time position involves clinical duties in the Infectious Diseases unit, including being first point of call for the inpatient consulting service in Infectious Diseases and telephone advice service, teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate medical/nursing and staff) and other inpatient and outpatient activities.

 

Please note that the successful applicants will be required to undergo a Police Check and Working With Children Check.  In addition, all International Medical Graduate applicants will need to have passed the IELTS tests (results must indicate a score of 7 or above in all bands) in order to apply for this position.
