We have the unique part time opportunity for a Speech Pathologist to join the Social Inclusion Team, working 2 days per week on a fixed term contract for 12 months at Goodstart Morwell. The Speech Pathologist will perform a range of professional, educational and administrative functions to support the TaLKERS speech pathology program which forms part of the organisation's Social Inclusion Strategy within the Enhancing Children's Outcomes (EChO) approach.

Key responsibilities include delivery and day to day management of the program including:

  • Delivering the program in consultation with others.
  • Orienting key stakeholders to the program.
  • Providing support to Goodstart educators, Centre Directors and Centre Support staff to increase their understanding of how they can create environments that encourage and support children's speech, language, emergent literacy and social/emotional development.
  • Working alongside Goodstart staff to build their understanding of the tools and techniques they can use in practice.
  • Communicating regularly with staff about the program, its goals, strategies and outcomes.
  • Contributing to the development of resources for use in the program.
  • Contributing to the evaluation of the program.
  • Providing regular information about the progress of the program and the outcomes for children.

To be considered for this position it is essential you possess the following skills and experience:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Speech Pathology and be eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of innovative speech pathology services in early childhood settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to the access and participation of vulnerable children in early learning and care settings.
