ATSICHS Brisbane is a not-for-profit community owned health and human services organisation delivering on the unique health and wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in greater Brisbane and Logan. We are the largest, most comprehensive Aboriginal Medical Health Service in Queensland, and Australia's second oldest. Position Outline
As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the Transport Driver is expected to personally contribute to the shaping and achievement of ATSICHS vision and goals. This position will provide three (3) key functions:
Deliver the safe escort of passengers to and from the Health Clinic
Ensure adequate transport schedules are delivered to increase efficiency across the service. In addition this position will contribute to continual improvement projects with regards to: patient safety, patient wait time, staff downtime and vehicle maintenance.
Community engagement and connection
During transport advocate and advertise on behalf of ATSICHS informing passengers of items such as: clinic locations, hours, services provided and upcoming community and clinic events.
Contribute to a Flourishing Team
Ensuring you contribute to the Clinic where possible. Examples of this may include: attending Team Meetings, open and transparent communication, liaising with Reception at all times including informing them of patient details change.
Skills, Competencies, Qualifications, Education and Experience
Essential:
- Current Drivers License.
- Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
- Previous experience of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Previous experience as a Transport Driver.
- Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply
- Please note that it is a genuine requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person in accordance with s25 of the Anti-discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).
- Monday to Friday Availability
Desirable, but not mandatory:
- Transport experience in Primary Health setting.
