About the role:
- Reporting to the Therapy Practice Manager, this Occupational Therapy position will deliver services via a range of delivery models, working with children and adults with varying levels of abilities including multiple and complex disabilities, including: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Delay, Intellectual disabilities, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy.
- Assess, treat and manage clients on a caseload
- Consult and liaise with families and other involved parties to set priorities and goals for the client
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and be responsive to their needs and priorities
- Develop, implement and evaluate programs/therapy on an individual/group basis.
- Maintain regular, clear and specific documentation of each clients progress and program recommendations.
- Provide written reports, referrals and advice to medical professionals and other therapists as appropriate
Essential Skills:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current AHPRA registration
- Post graduate experience working with children and adults with varying levels of abilities including multiple and complex disabilities, including: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Delay, Intellectual disabilities, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to demonstrate high level of organisational skills
- Ability to be flexible in work practices
- Experience delivering Occupational Therapy services via a range of service delivery models (Eg Groups, consultative, individual etc)
- Competency in IT and computer based operations
- A capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job, including dirving and remaining in a seated position to perform tasks
- NSW Class C drivers licence
- WWCC or willingness to obtain
Desirable Skills:
- OT Australia membership
- A current First Aid Certificate or a willingness to obtain
- Experience in delivering training to staff within area of expertise
