About the Organisation:

About the role:

  • Reporting to the Therapy Practice Manager, this Occupational Therapy position will deliver services via a range of delivery models, working with children and adults with varying levels of abilities including multiple and complex disabilities, including: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Delay, Intellectual disabilities, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy.
  • Assess, treat and manage clients on a caseload
  • Consult and liaise with families and other involved parties to set priorities and goals for the client
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and be responsive to their needs and priorities
  • Develop, implement and evaluate programs/therapy on an individual/group basis.
  • Maintain regular, clear and specific documentation of each clients progress and program recommendations.
  • Provide written reports, referrals and advice to medical professionals and other therapists as appropriate

Essential Skills:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Post graduate experience working with children and adults with varying levels of abilities including multiple and complex disabilities, including: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Delay, Intellectual disabilities, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate high level of organisational skills
  • Ability to be flexible in work practices
  • Experience delivering Occupational Therapy services via a range of service delivery models (Eg Groups, consultative, individual etc)
  • Competency in IT and computer based operations
  • A capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job, including dirving and remaining in a seated position to perform tasks
  • NSW Class C drivers licence
  • WWCC or willingness to obtain

Desirable Skills:

  • OT Australia membership
  • A current First Aid Certificate or a willingness to obtain
  • Experience in delivering training to staff within area of expertise
