We are currently seeking applications from experienced community engagement officers, for a 12-month assignment with a possibility of an extension based in Queensland.

You will see yourself working for a federal government department at an APS6 level which provides quality cost effective mental health care services to eligible clients.

This position offers a generous hourly rate and the support of a dynamic team to help reach the desired outcomes for your clients.

Your duties will include:

•Using a community engagement framework, propose and facilitate innovation initiatives that contribute to evidence informed business improvement strategies for vulnerable or at risk clients.

•Work systemically with key internal and external stakeholders to influence a recovery approach to service delivery for vulnerable or at-risk clients, in accordance with the Departments policy and procedures. This includes the development of a shared knowledge base that helps inform appropriate practice and referral pathways for service access.

•Participation in program evaluation and research activities, contributing to project management activities that implement strategic direction and quality improvement recommendations, and provide feedback for ongoing development of clinical policies and procedures, particularly in relation to community engagement and development activities.

•Direct provision of evidence informed clinical services, including intake, complex case management, case coordination, and facilitation of group programs.Provide information, debriefing and support (including operational supervision) to the position of Community and Peer Advisor.

•Participation in and contribution to ongoing learning and development activities and the maintenance of professional status.

•Participation in other community development and service promotion activities as required.

•Participate in internal and external meetings as directed.

•Applying the principles of cooperative and safe work practices consistent with APS Values and the Department’s mission, vision, approach and values.
