About the role: EACH is the lead agency for headspace centres Dandenong and Narre Warren and we are currently seeking an Intake & Brief Intervention Senior Clinician to join its team based out of Narre Warren and Dandenong.

The Intake & Brief Intervention Senior Clinician for headspace Dandenong and Narre Warren provides initial screening and clinical assessment, care planning development and support to young people referred to the centres.  In addition, the role facilitates access to appropriate services as indicated by assessment and care planning processes, and includes direct service to the young, families and carers as well as consultation and support to other professionals, agencies and members of the community engaged in the young person's care.  Working under the community linkages team leader, the senior intake clinician will also provide mentoring and support of other intake clinicians as well as participate in relevant intake service improvement projects across the two sites.

You will have:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to effectively problem solve and negotiate especially with young people in the early stages of seeking help.
  • Demonstrated clinical skills in working with young people and their families/carers with mental issues in an early intervention framework.
  • Through understanding of the mental health and broader service system
  • Demonstrated experience in providing mental health assessments, psycho-education and short term interventions to young people experiencing mental health difficulties.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum diploma qualifications in Youth Work, Occupational Therapy, Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline.
