Join a friendly and supportive team of ten Speech Pathologists and three administrative support staff.

Speechcare is an established and highly regarded private speech pathology practice in Carina offering a wide range of speech pathology services to our clients. We are a member of the DSS early intervention provider panel and families can access funding for children with ASD under the Helping Children with Autism package of funding and for children with a disability under the Betterstart package of funding.

Speechcare is expanding and seeking two qualified, experienced Speech Pathologists to join our current team of ten speech pathologists. The successful applicants will provide services to Speechcare on a contractual basis with a potential to earn a high income. 

Position Status: Both positions are part time with the capacity to expand to full time for one of the positions.

Position Days: 2-3 days per week with capacity to expand the number of working days if interested. Saturday mornings are also an option.

The successful Speech Pathologists will possess:

  • Dedication, commitment and enthusiasm for working with children
  • Recognised degree in Speech pathology
  • Membership of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and evidence based practice
  • The ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience managing a paediatric case load including speech,language, fluency, literacy and feeding delays and disorders 

Desirable (but not essential) skills, training and experience may include:

  • UQ Phonological awareness for Literacy (PAL) programme and/ or the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Programme.
  • Managing children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Hanen certification in 'More than Words' and/or 'Talkability' and/or training in DIR Floortime and the Picture Exchange Communication System will be highly regarded.
  • Working with children with a disability including Down Syndrome, Hearing Impairment, Fragile X Syndrome or Cerebral Palsy.
  • Working with children and/or adults who stutter with training in the Lidcombe Program and/or Camperdown Program).
  • Working within the school context alongside teachers, principals and learning support staff.

The position is open to recent graduates and entry level candidates.

The successful applicant may choose to specialise or manage a varied case load.
