Our new home includes a memory support unit and access to a sensory garden for those living with dementia, state-of-the-art equipment to provide exceptional care for residents, a concierge service to ensure residents enjoy a full range of activities, as well as a range of luxury hospitality goods and  services. 

About the role:

This is a full time role, working from Monday - Friday.

The key purpose of a Clinical Nurse Consultant is to act as a clinical expert, provide hands-on education to nursing staff and promote excellence in care. 
 
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will be required to support and contribute to quality improvement and demonstrate a high level of skill in clinical decision making, especially when it comes to problem identification and solution and analysing and interpreting clinical data.  You will be expected to be able to monitor for acute changes and deterioration and manage next steps including liaising with doctors and other health professionals.  You must have the credibility to be recognised as a leader in clinical care and act as a mentor to less experienced nurses. 
 
Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Nursing and ideally post graduate qualifications in dementia or palliative care.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA for at least 5 years.
  • Deep knowledge of the aged care industry, regulations and accreditation process.
  • Prior experience evaluating and reviewing practice standards and procedures, assessment tools and care plans in aged care. 
  • Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety framework and regulations.
  • The ability to develop and deliver training.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to engage staff at all levels.
  • Well-developed report writing and analytical skills.
  • Proven coaching, problem solving and influencing skills.
  • Highly organised and previous experience with computerised care systems.
  • Passion, energy and initiative.
