Located in Parkville (Australia) and part of the Quality Control Team, this is a 6 month Fixed term full time position. The QC Chemistry Team Leader is responsible for leading a team within the

assay/validation testing area.: The QC Team Leader under direction from the relevant Manager, QC is responsible for the delivery of the following outcomes through the effective management and utilization of Team resources, processes, people and systems including the following:

 

  • Coordinate the preparation, review and approval of relevant QC documentation
  • Conduct the training of QC staff on approved procedures as required
  • Ensure processes and procedures are conducted in accordance with approved procedures
  • Identify and communicate issues that may cause delay to service performance
  • Assist the Quality Control Manager in the preparation of annual budgets and expenditure forecasts, as required
  • Risk manage operational activities through internal audit and review process
  • Complete and conduct appropriate investigations and ensure that appropriate action is taken when Out of Specification (OOS), invalid assays or unusual data is observed
  • Ensure the QC Facility is maintained in compliance with GMP
  • Represent QC at relevant meetings
  • Provide efficient and reliable service to customers of QC
  • Schedule testing and allocate resources to meet customer requirements and departmental KPIs as required
  • Lead the operational area proactively to prevent invalid assays

 

To be successful in this role you will have good experience in the production or quality area that you would have gained from a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Experience and the ability to lead a team and achieve results are crucial to this role. You will use your strong communication skills and attention to detail to deliver efficient and effective results to your internal customers, to enable them to achieve commercial outcomes. Knowledge of quality systems is required.

 

A tertiary qualification in Chemistry/Science, and demonstrated laboratory experience with the ability to accurately maintain testing records is essential.  Use of computer systems for data entry and inquiry functions; experience in assay preparation; strong scientific report writing skills; a team orientated attitude with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
