The role:
The Medical Information Associate conducts detailed medical information activities according to Bayer global and local guidelines, while conforming to industry specific codes of practice. You will provide timely, accurate and balanced medical information to external and internal customers regarding Bayer products. A proportion of the role is devoted to establishing close working partnerships with the relevant Business Units, requiring skills in partnering and customer focus. This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
Role responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service and knowledgeable, accurate verbal and written medical information regarding Bayer products to external and internal customers.
- Develop detailed technical product knowledge across the Health product portfolio and update product reference material in various databases, as required.
- Prepare Responses and Frequently Asked Questions and literature in readiness for new product launches, participate in global content networks and in teleconference meetings involving global medical information teams.
- Develop close partnerships with the relevant Business Units and participate in cross functional meetings, to inform, share, monitor, train and examine product related information, risk management and safety issues.
- Assist the Business Units, where necessary in creation of marketing and sales tools, training aids and study programs. Represent the medical information team at internal meetings, as required.
- Continuously improve medical information data entry and report writing processes in IRMS by keeping updated in software upgrades and global operating procedures involving IRMS, Sherlock and other global databases.
- Attend external industry and professional meetings and symposia as appropriate.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Science, Nursing or Pharmacy
- A minimum of 2-5 years' experience in a similar role
- A passion for providing superior customer service. Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to communicate technical data in lay language effectively
- Excellent working knowledge of pharmacovigilance and medical information practices
- Proven analytical and research skills
- Proven leadership skills
- Familiarity with drug information reference sources and on-line medical databases
- Strong computer skills - including MS Word, database management and Excel
- Excellent time management skills, ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Motivated and results orientated
- Strong ethics and integrity
