Owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care, Australia's largest and most respected operator of private hospitals, The Cairns Clinic is a 30 bed private (sub-acute) mental health hospital. Our mental health services provide a range of treatments for general mental health disorders, including but not limited to depression and anxiety, drug and alcohol dependence.
We offer a range of interventions that include inpatient and day patient programs.
As we continue to grow we have excellent opportunities for Mental Health Registered and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses passionate about making a difference in the field of Mental Health. These roles are part-time. Responsibilities include developing therapeutic caring relationships with client and providing evidence-based practice to alleviate client distress. The role includes communicating with patients, families, other health caregivers and working with a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals focused on improving client care and outcomes.
The successful applicant will possess:
- Current and valid (mental health) nursing registration with AHPRA;
- A minimum of 2 years Nursing experience in Mental Health;
- Demonstrated experience, skill and / or knowledge in the provision of direct clinical care to people who have experienced mental illness, in particular, high prevalence disorders such as anxiety and depression;
- Understanding of contemporary psychiatric issues;
- Attention to detail and documentation requirements;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Computer literacy in Word;
- Ability to work well in a team;
Desirable:
- Post Graduate Qualifications in Addiction Studies or Mental Health.
