Medical Receptionist

Part time hours, possible Saturday also, for an experienced medical receptionist. Private billing experience preferred but not necessary, will train the right applicant. Pleasant phone manner, patience. Lovely clinic, nice patients. Flexibility required in hours of work initially. Well above award wages paid.

Best Practice software experience is advantageous.

Duties would include the following:

• Meet and greet patients on arrival to practice
• Answering phones
• Patient appointments
• Communication with patients, practitioners, co-workers etc
• General housekeeping
• Filing and patient records
• Processing patient accounts and paperwork

The successful applicant will possess the following:

• Communicate effectively with all members of the practice, including doctors, management, other reception staff, and support staff.
• Communicate with patients in an effective and caring manner.
• To facilitate communication between patients and doctors.
• Responsible for informing patients about the practice, with particular reference to appointments and billing.
• Make appointments using an appropriate phone manner.
• Assist with logistics of patient care including assistance with immediate physical care if required.
• Help maintain a tidy, clean, efficient, positive and safe work environment.
• Ensure that practice accounting and government required paperwork is correctly processed.
• Computer literate
• Ensure confidentiality of all patient information

3 doctor medical centre in convenient location, close to Train Station. Need to be switched on, energetic, marketable, loyal, courteous to patients and doctors.

Some basic accounting skills are desirable, since the workload could increase. Pay rate would consequently increase.
