The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne is a leading provider of specialist public health services for children and adolescents and is the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria, caring for children from Tasmania and southern New South Wales as well as other states around Australia and overseas. With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff of more than 4,500 we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

 

The Neurodevelopment and Disability team are specialists, with a range of expertise, who promote the highest standards of care for children with developmental disabilities and their families. We provide care for children with: developmental concerns; cerebral palsy; intellectual disability; autism spectrum disorder; spina bifida and other developmental and long-term disabilities.

 

Our team includes clinicians, researchers, administrators and training specialists with nursing, medical, physiotherapy, psychology, occupational therapy and speech therapy expertise. We work together with families to complete research and provide training that answers important questions and to provide a holistic and individualised approach to best care that will improve the lives of children and young people with a neurodisability, and the lives of their families.

 

A Maternity Leave position is available as a Fellow in the department of Neurodevelopment and Disability at The Royal Children's Hospital. Applications can be on a full time or part time basis. This role will provide excellent training for those considering a career in, or a substantial commitment to, the field of Neurodevelopment and Disability. The Fellow will be involved in research and will also be responsible for patient care. It is anticipated that the Fellow will spend approximately 80% of their time in clinical activities and 20% in research. The end date of this position is the 3rd of February 2019. 

 

This position will close on Friday 24th July 2018, with the view to interview shortly afterwards.

 

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to undergo a police and working with children check. In addition, all International Medical Graduate applicants will need to have passed their IELTS test (results must indicate a score of 7 or above in all bands) in order to be successful in this position.
