About the role

We are currently seeking a Clinical Advisor to join our Care Services and Governance team on a casual basis.  The purpose of the role is to support the Manager – Clinical Governance through effective management of clinical governance, risk management, quality initiatives, governance, regulatory compliance, and policy. Key objectives of the position include:

  • Development, renewal and consistent implementation of clinical governance and risk management frameworks to ensure risks are identified, minimised and managed
  • Ensure systems are in place, effective and consistently utilised to ensure optimal care and service delivery outcomes.  To which learnings are embedded in future strategies to maximise delivery practices and system outcomes
  • External service providers are managed to ensure safe and high quality care and service delivery
  • Ensure that all care policies and procedures are documented and maintained to assist organisational practices are safe and high quality
  • Review, implement and monitor the implementation of a strong quality management framework that is consistent with legislative and organisational requirements, to which organisational learning and strategy is embedded thereby improving risk and quality approaches in the business. This includes but not exclusive to; internal and external reviews, continuous improvement plans, audits, mandatory reporting, continuous state of preparedness for reviews, quality databases and systems and relevant strategic objectives
  • Comprehensive root cause analysis and reporting on clinical, quality, complaints and governance

 

About You 

To be considered for this important role, you must have:

  • A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army. An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel
  • Bachelor of Nursing qualification and current AHPRA credentialing with no restrictions
  • Experience in clinical education and/ or clinical supervision - preferably at least 2 years in Aged Care
  • Ability to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care for aged care residents as a partner in professional nursing and multidisciplinary team in accordance with scope of practice
  • An ability to work co-operatively to implement change, providing support and leadership
  • Demonstrated high level written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in management of stakeholder relations with key stakeholders
  • Current Drivers Licence and ability and willingness to travel inter/intrastate as required
  • Ability to take on-call requirements on rotational basis as requested
