About the Role
The staff anaesthetists will provide anaesthetic services for procedures within the endoscopy unit and the operating theatre, outpatient booked procedures such as cardioversion; and acute pain service rounds. They will contribute actively to training, education, quality improvement and clinical review activities within the Department of Anaesthesia and in associated clinical activities (eg pain management) at QEII Hospital.
- Provide pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care to patients requiring an operative procedure for which anaesthesia is required.
- Provide clinical supervision of junior clinical staff within the Anaesthetic Department and participate in the after-hours and weekend provision of anaesthetic services for the QE II hospital.
- Ability to contribute to strategic planning for the Anaesthetic Department, inclusive of services provided by this department, including clinical aspects, educational aspects and the overall functioning. Proven ability in providing ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
