About the business
Pathways Sailors Bay is a 121 bed aged care facility on the lower North Shore, providing both high and low care to our residents and we are now offering employment opportunities in housekeeping and laundry.
About the role
We have a part-time position available Monday – Friday with flexible hours, that would suit a return to work parent in our housekeeping / laundry department.
Skills and experience
The applicant must have:
- Previous experience in aged care housekeeping and working in a laundry with an understanding of commercial laundering practices
- Show attention to detail
- Be hardworking and reliable
- Be well presented and have a friendly nature
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge and experience in chemical handling
- Able to work as part of a team as well as working unsupervised
- Ability to work safely
- Knowledge and understanding of manual handling
- Basic literacy numeracy skills
- Ability to use initiative and organise tasks
- Understanding of Infection Control
- Committed to delivery and an exceptional level of service
- Willing to take direction and complete all tasks efficiently
Duties Include:
- Machine operation
- General cleaning within the facility
- Providing laundry service for residents including ironing
- Interacting with residents ensuring they are satisfied or answering any questions they may have
