Toronto Private Hospital is a premier 105 bed medical, mental health and rehabilitation hospital situated on the western side of Lake Macquarie, NSW, on the hill overlooking the township of Toronto. It is centrally located and a 30-minute drive from the major cities of Gosford, Newcastle and Maitland.
A vacancy exists for a Career Medical Officer to support our ground floor rehabilitation/medical units. The successful applicant will be integral to the effective interdisciplinary management of our patients in consultation with Visiting Medical Officers, Nursing & Allied Health staff. The fulltime role will provide both day and afternoon support by working 1200 midday to 2000 hrs and rotate through the on call CMO roster as required. In additional to this role we are seeking additional CMO’s interested in also participating in the on call CMO roster.
Essential criteria:
- Current unlimited Australian Medical Board Registration (APHRA)
- Current Working With Children Check
- Min two years post graduate experience
- Ability to work in a multi-specialty environment
- Strong, collaborative interpersonal communication skills with well developed verbal and written communication skills
- Able to make sound decisions in accordance with level of experience and awareness of limitations
- Demonstrated experience in taking comprehensive patient history, perform clinical examinations and accurate documenting treatment in patient’s record.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience with computer data systems and relevant applications.
- Previous private hospital experience.
- Post graduate qualifications in relevant specialty
- Advanced Life Support certification
