Reporting to the Executive Manager Improvement and Integration, the Policy and Research Integration Lead will synthesize international, national and NT evidence and policy to inform NT PHN’s activities and direction. Focusing on putting evidence into practice, developing key research body linkages and ensuring NT PHN works collaboratively locally and nationally to develop policy, this position will be an important part in positioning NT PHN as an integrator of the NT Health System to improve outcomes for Territorians.

Key Requirements

  • An in-depth knowledge of the Northern Territory health system and associated priority health needs including rural and remote services, Aboriginal health and cross-cultural health service delivery.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, write and deliver presentations, lead workshops, write reports and external communications.
  • Skills in developing and maintaining relationships and liaising with a range of organizations and health professionals (e.g.: GPs or hospital clinicians) and funding / governance bodies.
  • Experience in change management and coaching stakeholders and staff through change.
  • Experience in policy development and research activities
  • Commitment to evidence based practice, collaboration and integration.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, under pressure, priorities commitments and meet critical deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to garner different views, opinions and positions and synthesize these to develop a collaborative position
  • Ability to understand and translate policy into policy changes, action and practice ability to support  staff with a range of skills to enhance their capacity and develop their skills
  • external stakeholder relationships.
