Your new role as Diversional Therapist/Lifestyle Coordinator is responsible for providing a varied and holistic leisure and recreation program, which aims to provide residents within the aged care facility a fulfilment in their cognitive, physical, social, spiritual and creative needs.
Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring a range of individual and group leisure and lifestyle activities are planned and delivered;
- Ensuring residents’/clients’ rights are protected and their physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs are met appropriately;
To be successful in your new role you will need to demonstrate:
- A relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an approved university course or other equivalent qualifications;
- Knowledge of legislation, regulations and evidence based best practice relevant to aged care and experience in implementing leisure and lifestyle activity programs within the aged care environment;
- High level written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with residents/consumers, employees and stakeholders of all levels;
- Membership with Diversional and Recreation Therapy Australia (desirable).
A current police check suitable for aged care is essential.
Remuneration is as per the Living Care Enterprise Agreement 2014. As an additional benefit there is a tax free component of your remuneration available under the Public Benevolent Institution.
