The planning for Harvest 2018 has begun and JobFit are seeking 2 or 3 General Practitioners/ Doctors from early August through to early October. Our client is a grain company and each year recruits seasonal workers and local casuals to assist with the annual grain harvest. Every worker undergoes a pre-employment medical and rail assessment prior to employment.
The Harvest project requires JobFit Doctors to travel to rural and regional locations throughout South Australia to perform pre-employment medical assessments and statutory rail medicals. Clinics are held in various hired locations, such as community halls and sporting clubs and are not in normal medical centres. While we do all we can to ensure appropriate venues are provided by our client, it is not always possible to source high level facilities in some rural and regional locations. As such, a high degree of adaptability and flexibility is required around working environment and conditions.
Jobfit deploys teams of two (2) to the various client locations to conduct onsite medical assessments to ensure the candidates are medically fit and can fulfil the inherent requirements of the job role as part of the recruitment process. Working in a team of two (2); with either a registered nurse or medical technician. The medical assessments comprise of reviewing the medical history and a conducting a full examination.
A typical day involves 16 medicals, 2 per hour shared between each examiner. Some weekend travel may be required. There is a designated Jobfit doctor who will be the ‘Harvest Doctor’ whom you will report to and a designated Harvest Coordinator who will be available to assist you at all times.
We are looking to offer a daily rate of approximately $1400 (TBC) on days medicals occur and lower rates for days between clinics or on days of travel.
