The position summary:

We require an experienced professional to join our already established Hygiene department 3 days per week. This can be negotiable for the right person. This person will join a team of Hygienists and Oral Health Therapists so support and team work is an active part of the role. There is a Hygiene coordinator/assistant shared between the Hygiene department. 

You need to have exceptional human relation skills as connecting to our patients and forming relationships, offering them education as well as the service is paramount to Southport Dental.

This person must hold current professional indemnity insurance and be registered with AHPRA to work as an Oral Health Therapist / Dental Hygienist.

Must be flexible to work within surgery opening hours but are negotiable. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Excellent management skills to handle multiple priorities
• Working within a patient management structure
• Able to complete tasks within a set time frame.
• Experience with EXACT dental software is desirable.
• Maintain a high level of personal grooming, punctuality and maintain a professional image
• Provide care and treatment needs to patients as prescribed by the Dentist
• Inform patients of the findings and take images with intra oral camera
• Take impressions when required
• Take digital radiographs as prescribed by the Dentists
• Generate hygiene appointments
• Prepare and present treatment plans and cost estimates
• Maintain equipment in the practice at a very high standard
• Keep the Practice Manager and Principals informed of all clinical issues
• Willingness to attend continuing education when required

Remuneration is negotiable to the right person once you have completed your probation period and display the caring nature we are seeking for our patients.
