The Sensory Gym® - Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury/Nepean
Cutting edge paediatric occupational therapy clinic now seeking an occupational therapist to assist with our growing caseload. Responsibilities include assessment and treatment of children, direct work with families in providing support and education, and collaboration with professional colleagues. Interested candidates should have strong skills in time management, initiation, communication, and team membership. Experience desired but not necessary.
The Sensory Gym® is a state of the art treatment facility and is co-directed by Colleen Hacker and Lynette Burke (who have combined experience of nearly 70 years!). The practice was established 13 years ago; since that time, many practices have modelled their intervention and physical facility off of our lead.
The Sensory Gym® provides immense opportunities for professional development, ongoing individual supervision, and a supportive and dynamic learning and working environment. The clinic is unparalleled, with a built-for-purpose space and an abundance of therapeutic resources. Our professional development includes frequent skype mentoring sessions with international clinicians including Tracy Stackhouse, Beth Osten, and Sheila Frick.
The Sensory Gym® is also responsible for all of the Camp Jabiru programs. Camp Jabiru is an immersion experience for the campers, and it attracts esteemed clinicians internationally as well as Australia-wide. Camp Jabiru is dedicated to individual outcomes, clinical education, and contribution to the profession through advanced clinical reasoning, evidence-informed practice, and implementation of targeted research to assess the immersive therapeutic experience as a model for intervention.
