We are currently seeking an HP3 level speech therapist for a hospital in south western QLD.

The role is full time and is to start asap and run for 3 months, with a view to extending.

Your role:

• Deliver base-level speech pathology generalist services (including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and case management) within a multidisciplinary team across a broad spectrum of clinical presentations in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team (with other Queensland Health, government and non-government service providers) in the case management of clients to deliver high quality therapy, across the continuum of care, from local and outreach inpatient to outpatient and community based service delivery, linking to metropolitan clinical services and utilising flexible innovative models of care to adapt to cultural and geographical barriers and limited community based support.
• As experience builds, apply increasing independent clinical judgement to a more complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practise based on valid and reliable evidence and well established clinical protocols, under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
• Monitor and report on clinical practices, outcomes, procedures and protocols that support the patient/ client continuum of care.
• Contribute positively to clinical education and training, professional supervision and research activities within the work unit.

Mandatory qualifications/Professional registration/Other requirements

• The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Speech Pathology from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Membership with the Speech Pathology Association is mandatory.
• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
