As a Registered Nurse your previous experience in providing a high level of care to patients is imperative in their wellbeing, safety and positive hospital experience. In responding to the daily schedule of patients you are the heartbeat of the healthcare system and we need you to join the team at a 166 bed hospital on the Lower Mid North Coast. Outside of the hospital you can fill in your time on the shores of the mighty Manning River, travel less than half an hour to explore your choice of beach or head up the mountain to take a hike or explore historic Wingham.

 

Manning Hospital have four operating theatres providing surgeries across: 

  • Orthopaedic – fractures, total knee replacements, total hip replacements, shoulders, arthroscopes, debridement and washout and removal of hardware.
  • Gynaecology – hysterectomies, vaginal repairs, hysteroscopy and D&C’s.
  • Urology – TURP (transurethral resection of the prostrate), cystoscopy and stent insertion and laparotomy.
  • General surgery – laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, thyroid, infected wounds wash out/drains/abscesses, excision and repair BCC & SCC, repair of hernias and release of carpal tunnel.

The twenty bed unit involves caring for these patients before and after their surgeries once they have been returned from recovery. The unit also receives patients from the Emergency Department and direct admission patients in circumstance requiring preparation prior to procedures. Shift rotation is an expectation of the role with ten hour night shifts and eight hour shifts for morning and afternoons.

 

Taree is nestled in the Manning Valley, a three and half hour drive from Sydney, situated on the Manning River. With a population of 20,000 this popular holiday location has the added benefit of affordable housing options. The river is largely responsible for the recreational activities including fishing, rowing, sailing and power boating as well as a basis for industry with the area being a large producer of oysters. Start every day in a location people wait to holiday at annually.

 

Permanent Full/Part Time hours and Temporary Full/Part Time contracts until December 2018 and January 2019 are available.

 

Job share arrangements will be considered.
