The Risdon Prison Hospital is based at Risdon Vale, Tasmania, and operates under the direction of Tasmania's Forensic Mental Health Services. The complex provides community and inpatient mental health assessment, treatment and case management for offenders (or people at risk of offending) who have a mental disorder. Clients are provided with contemporary, professional and highly specialised psychiatric care and treatment so that their condition is well managed.
As our main Clinical Nurse Educator, you will report directly to the Director of Nursing for the Forensic Health Service. You will assist in the daily running of the unit in collaboration with Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Consultants and the Manager of Inpatient Mental Health and Correctional Health Services. You will be responsible for the provision of direction and support to the nursing staff, as well as developing, implementing and evaluating education strategies for the Community Forensic Health team. To achieve desired outcomes, you will work in accordance with Primary Health care principles and ensure that they are delivered in a timely manner.
We are looking for a dynamic educator who is creative and enthusiastic, and will deliver training that will resonate with the learner. You will have an ability to communicate with influence and motivate staff to engage in the learning process and be excited to improve their skills. Your commitment and ability to provide the highest levels of clinical care will see you succeed in this challenging and rewarding environment.
Vacancy: Permanent full-time day work, working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible. Part time hours will be considered and flexible working arrangements can be negotiated.
Salary: $93,109 to $98,010 per annum.
Please note that this position attracts a 6.5% Correctional Health Allowance, and access to free parking on-site. Relocation assistance may also be offered to the successful candidate.
