We are searching an experienced and conscientious Practice Manager to join the team of the new Private Emergency Centre at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Mackay.

 

The Mater Private Emergency Centre is a newly approved joint venture between the Mercy Health & Aged Care Central Queensland Ltd and Private Emergency Health Australia (PEHA) and is set to open  the doors in September, 2018.

 

The selected candidate will fulfill a pivotal leadership role within the close knit PEHA team and ensure the facility fulfills its commitment to the local community. This person will play an integral role within the practice, implementing the policies and procedures that keep the practice running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the setup of the Emergency Centre
  • Developing administration staff members and actively providing support and feedback
  • Managing the Financials of the practice including end of month reports and patient billing in accordance with support providers (support available if required)
  • Maintain and manage Doctor rosters
  • Establish and maintain key relationships with VMOs, GPs and Allied Health professionals
  • Establish and maintain relationships with DVA, Medicare, Work-cover for billing
  • Knowledge of practice payment mechanisms
  • Document operational policies and procedures ensuring staff are trained where required
  • Compliance with Policies and Procedures
  • Monitor and update legislative requirements upon change 
  • Data entry and administrative tasks
  • Provide assistance with Marketing when requested
  • Personal Assistant to the Director of the Emergency Department
  • Lead by example

Knowledge, Skills & Experienced required for this role:

  • Previous experience in a Practice Manager Position
  • Thorough understanding of the medical administration field
  • Highly articulated and practiced people skills
  • Time management skills and an aptitude for multi-tasking
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiar with a range of medical based software programs
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with staff
  • Attention to detail
  • Current drivers licence
