Limelight People are keen to speak Support Workers with good working knowledge and experience of working with Aboriginal families.

We are currently supporting a growing service in the community looking to increase headcount in their established multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for a qualified support worker with in depth knowledge of Aboriginal culture and issues relating to Aboriginal youth and families.

You will be working with clients in need of cultural support, and provide client centered case management to adolescents between the ages of 12 years - 17 years.

You will be addressing issues such as social isolation, sexual assault, domestic violence, mental health, as well as child protection.

You will do so by facilitating groups to parents and their adolescents and use relevant cultural knowledge to inform service delivery.

The role is paid at the SCHADS award level 5, as well as access to salary sacrifice.

• Working knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and issues
• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal families
• Tertiary qualification in social work or psychology
• Demonstrated experience working with families who have complex needs and behaviours including: substance abuse, disabilities and mental health
• Working knowledge in case management including intake, assessments and recommendations
• Demonstrated experience in facilitating groups
• Valid New South Wales driver's license
• Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply
