About the Department
St. Vincent’s Mental Health (SVMH) includes an adult area mental health service for the inner city areas of Yarra and Boroondara.
About the Role
You will work across the CATS/Triage/EDMH/MHap providing assessment and treatment services for people with the broad range of mental health presentations. The multi-disciplinary team provides a range of clinical and therapeutic interventions using the recovery-focused Strengths Model of Recovery-Oriented practice.
There will be a requirement to work some night shifts and work on a rotating roster across the above areas.
The CATS/Triage/EDMH/MHap clinician will contribute to the overall strength of the CATS/Triage/EDMH/MHaP service by bringing discipline specific knowledge and skills and taking responsibility for representing these within clinical meetings and within their daily clinical work.
Duties
- Work within the Strengths Model of Recovery Orientated Practice
- Support Consumers in becoming experts and leader of their own care
- Actively uphold the culture of hope by using optimistic language supporting people and celebrating consumer’s recovery efforts
- Work with people to support and sustain existing resources, assets, networks and relationships
- Provide high quality discipline specific and mental health assessments, case management, rehabilitation and discipline specific treatments to consumers and carers
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Certificate, Diploma or Degree (minimum) in Nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, Division 1 or 3.
- Masters Degree or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology recognised by the Australian Psychological
- Bachelor of Social Work (B.SW). Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. Eligible for membership of Australian Association of Occupational Therapy
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- A current Victorian driver’s licence.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments including mental state assessment, risk assessment and plan appropriate interventions.
- Knowledge and ability to provide Psychiatric Triage services.
