IRT at Home, a division of the IRT Group is continuing to expand, proving a range of services to people living in their own homes across NSW, QLD and ACT. We are seeking a motivated and dedicated In-Home Care Employees to join the team.
Our industry is growing rapidly and as a result we have multiple positions for an immediate start. You will be joining a supportive and growing team that is passionate about providing general, personal and clinical care to our customers who remain living independently.
Our office is based in Belconnen and we have customers across the entire ACT.
We are looking for enthusiastic carers who can work Friday to Sunday 5.30pm to 8pm.
About the Role
As an IRT at Home Employee you will be required to provide support including:
- Have a genuine passion for supporting older Australians living independently
- Commitment to provide a high standard of care working closely with IRT customers and their families
- Demonstrated ability to follow individual care plans
- Personal Care: Showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
- Domestic Assistance: Food preparations, household cleaning, assisting with finances
- Transportation to medical appointments, shopping, social outings and other customer tasks
- Community Access and Social Support
- Regular reporting on and communicating customer progress
To be successful you will have:
- A current Certificate III in Aged Care (Individual Support) or working towards
- A current First Aid Certificate
- Current valid driver’s license
- Reliable registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance – work related approved kilometres are paid fortnightly
- A current Working with Vulnerable People check (highly desirable)
- Availability to work flexibly across the day including weekends, afternoons and/or evenings, especially Friday to Monday (5.30pm to 8pm)
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate empathetically to people from diverse backgrounds, values and cultures
- Ability to use technology such as smart phones and computers
- An understanding of safe work practices and appropriate manual handling procedures
