The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated person with business acumen and project management and health sector experience. After a very successful period of growth and stabilisation, the Pharmacy Business Unit, a subsection of the Pharmacy Department, requires a new manager to maintain operations and further develop the unit.

 

As the manager of the Unit, you will manage the commercial production, registration and supply of a number of specialised pharmaceutical products and publications. You will interact with hospital management, customers, contract manufacturers and regulatory bodies.

 

Qualifications and experience:
Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent

Registered to practice as a pharmacist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency & name appears on the register of the Pharmacy Board of Australia

Experience in change management, quality and operational improvement.

Significant experience in hospital pharmacy, with working in neonatal and/or paediatric health would be advantageous, but is not essential

Previous experience in a leadership role within a pharmacy team or significant experience in a specialist area of practice.

Experience in literature review, publishing research and/or editing or publishing professional material.

Postgraduate qualifications or undertaking a postgraduate course in a relevant discipline

 

Key attributes:

Demonstrable abilities in planning, communication, organisational management and quality related activities.

  • Ability to learn quickly, work without supervision and manage risk.
  • Experience in dealing with executive level management and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in budgeting and project management an advantage.
  • Ability to manage people at different levels
  • Experience with managing complex situations with competing priorities, with a “can do” attitude.
  • Demonstrable written and verbal communication skills
