As a DV Counsellor you will provide thorough, accurate and ethical counselling to individuals and group work sessions to those who have been affected by domestic violence, sexual assault or child protection related events. You will continue to deliver community development and capacity building strategies to increase awareness of the impact.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide ethical, effective and professional counselling to children, family members and non-offending members
- Perform accurate and concise assessment from the beginning of the process to the end
- Liaise and provide accurate information for reporting purposes to government bodies
- Internal and external stakeholder liaisons
- Actively pursue improvement of service delivery
Required relevant experience:
- Extensive experience in Counselling or clinical therapeutic assessment experience
- Ability to manage large caseload
- Possess strong communication skills - verbal and written
- Strong knowledge in delivering ethical practices
- Ability to connect with relevant stakeholders to deliver the highest quality of service
- Strong organisational skills
To be considered for the role you must have:
- A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social work or similar
- Eligible for a Medicare Provider Number and Mental Health Accreditation
- Working with children blue card
- National police check (or willing to)
- Full driver’s license
