About the Service - Kurrajong Therapy Plus provides supports to children, young people and adults with disability and/or complex developmental delays. Kurrajong Therapy Plus consists of a unique multidisciplinary team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants, Educators and Aides. Kurrajong Therapy Plus is a one stop shop for supporting people and their family/carer to assist with learning, development, inclusive community access, specific therapeutic supports and prescription of specialised equipment for all people with disability.
  
Position Key Responsibilities:
The Occupational Therapy Supervisor will provide individual supervision to discipline members as follows:
• To support professional competence of staff and the use of evidence based practice.
• The frequency of supervision provided to a staff member is based on that staff member’s level of experience and caseload needs.
• To support staff’s clinical developmental needs through discussion, sharing of information, recommended readings, observing practice and formulating a professional development plan etc.
• To document supervision meetings with individual staff. To maintain a supervision file for each staff member. Supervision file is to be given to the Manager when that staff member leaves the service.
• To require staff to engage in reflective practices. Reflective practices include staff evaluating their own performance and reviewing child/family outcomes in relation to goals and clinical practice. Strategies include: video recording, peer review and documenting evaluation of sessions.
• To review operational performance of staff including: Data base entry, caseload, total amount of appointments per week at supervision sessions. 
• To monitor staff member’s responsibility to set goals and complete medico legal documentation for individual children on caseload.
• To monitor each staff member’s caseload and report to the Manager.
• To conduct staff appraisals/review for each team member and develop a professional development plan.
• To inform the Manager about any work performance or disciplinary issues with staff.

Discipline Supervision Role:
• To promote the use of coaching and responsive teaching amongst team members.
• To promote family centred practice with team members.
• Encourage team members to use strategies that can be used by the family in the context of routine events and everyday home situations.
• To promote the use of transdisciplinary practice amongst team members.
• Coordinate professional development for specific discipline.
• To coordinate monthly discipline meetings with all team members (e.g. OT, SP, FSW, ED meetings). All discipline meetings to be documented and a copy of minutes forwarded to the Manager. The purpose of the discipline meetings is to discuss service policy and procedure, monitor discipline caseload, prioritise caseload, set Key Workers, present case studies, discuss professional reading and PD attended.
• To allocate new referrals received from Key Workers to discipline members within 1 week of receiving the referral.
• To inform the Manager of Key Worker capacity.
• To inform the Manager when discipline is at near capacity and advise of the need to implement a waiting list.
• To implement and monitor a priority system of therapy access.
• To make recommendations to the Manager for resources and equipment.
• To coordinate service delivery
