Position Summary:
A vacancy exists for a 4th year undergraduate or 2nd year post-graduate student of Indigenous Descent to work as a Cadet in the Physiotherapy Department. The Indigenous Cadetship is an Allied Health Assistant position that works for up to 12 weeks full time across a variety of clinical areas.

The Cadetship is a permanent part-time position and the position is designed to transition into the Physiotherapy Department's Indigenous First Year Graduate position (pending successful completion of university studies and satisfactory work performance). The objective of the position is to provide experience and training to an Indigenous Student in their final year of study and the hours are flexible and organized around the student's study/availability. The applicant will be expected to work across a range of clinical areas including Orthopaedics, Rehabilitation and Intensive Care

  • Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy and current Australian Physiotherapy Registration
  • Post-Graduate Public Hospital experience
  • Demonstrates an acceptable level of professional competence
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a demanding workload and prioritise where necessary
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work independently and without other physiotherapy supervision
  • Knowledge of Quality Improvement and Workplace Health and Safety policies
