This is a casual role providing OT support to Guide Dogs Queensland for client programs. Hours will be determined by operational requirements and client needs.  The OT role is instrumental in supporting our blind and vision impaired clients to participate effectively, efficiently, independently, confidently and safety in fundamental activities of everyday life.

Successful applicants must be enthusiastic and dynamic and be interested in working within an inter-disciplinary team to deliver therapies to both adults and young people who are blind or vision impaired.

This position requires applicants to hold a current Open driver’s licence and may require use of your own vehicle.
 

Key selection criteria:

• Applicants must hold an Occupational Therapy degree.
• Be registered with a professional industry body e.g. AHPRA, OTA.
• Have experience of more than 3 years working as an OT in people’s home environments.
• Be able to effectively prioritise tasks and work under minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Applicants who can demonstrate capacity to work alone in the community and be supported from head office will be highly regarded.
